Lucknow: Farmers who gave their land for the development of the upcoming Noida International Airport shared their experiences and appreciation for the transformation of the Jewar region during an interaction with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. Many farmers highlighted improvements in infrastructure, law and order, education, and employment opportunities, crediting large-scale projects such as the airport and the proposed film city for bringing unprecedented development to the area.
Several farmers, many of whom were travelling by air for the first time, told the Chief Minister that the land where they once cultivated crops is now helping shape the future of Uttar Pradesh. They described the experience of flying from the very region where they once farmed as a symbol of changing times.
Farmer Hansraj recalled how residents now feel secure due to improved law and order. Narrating an incident involving a Muslim farmer carrying ₹25 lakh in compensation money, he said the farmer confidently remarked, “How can anyone snatch it? This is Baba Ji’s rule,” reflecting the sense of security people feel today.
Veteran farmer Jafru Khan, who recently returned from Hajj, praised the government’s efforts and said that Muslims in the region also acknowledge the positive changes brought about under the current administration. He highlighted the airport, industrial investments, and film city projects as major drivers of local employment and economic growth.

The interaction also featured inspiring stories from women and young professionals. Dr. Hira Rashid, a farmer’s daughter from Jewar and an MBBS graduate from Aligarh Muslim University, said improved connectivity, internet access, and educational opportunities enabled her to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor. She noted that she cleared the NEET examination without coaching in 2021 and credited the region’s development for creating a supportive environment for students.
Residents such as Rita spoke about the dramatic transformation of Jewar since the late 1990s. Improved roads, connectivity, and educational facilities have made higher education more accessible for local youth, she said.
Other farmers, including Mahendra Sharma, Charan Singh, and Ashok Shastri, praised the state government’s development initiatives and expressed confidence that the airport project would significantly boost the region’s economy. Many described the airport as a historic achievement that would generate opportunities for future generations.
During the event, farmers presented the Chief Minister with commemorative mementoes, including a “Kisan Ki Udaan” souvenir and a statue of Radha-Krishna, symbolising their participation in what they described as a landmark development project for the region.
